As I perused all my various subscribed {en:RSS} articles today, I came across a digg article about five useful blog editors for GNU/Linux. I thought this article was very timely, as I have just moved my site from Joomla to WordPress. The one editor that really caught my eye was ScribeFire. Well, I took the plunge today after testing WordPress for the last day. I found WordPress to be quite speedy considering the number of features it has. The extensive community support, many templates (most XHTML compatible) and an amazing assortment of plug-ins to extend the functionality. I am currently testing WordPress as a replacement for Joomla. So far it seems to be fairly robust and fast. Integration with my existing Gallery2 installation was a snap! I am still evaluating security and access control, but so far everything seem quite easy to work with. |
